1. Report something#
On a moment, tap the ••• button, then Report or block. On a comment, tap the flag next to it. On a message, press and hold it. On a chat in Chats, press and hold it. On an experience you're not hosting, tap the flag at the top. On the map, open an experience and tap •••, then Report experience or Block host. On a profile, tap ••• on the person's profile or search result. A person on our team reviews it within 24 hours. The person you report isn't told who reported them.
If you can't use the app, email hello@flickdup.com with the username and what happened.
2. Block someone#
Press and hold a friend's name, or tap ••• on anyone's profile or search result, then choose Block. You can also block someone from anything of theirs you report. Once you block someone:
- they can't message you, send you a friend request, or invite you;
- you won't see each other's moments, comments or reactions, even in an experience you're both in;
- you won't see public experiences they host, on the map or anywhere else, and they won't see yours.
If you're both in the same experience, you'll both still appear in its attendee list. They aren't told you blocked them. You can unblock them in Settings, then Blocked.
3. Who can reach you#
- Private experiences. Only your friends can invite you. You choose whether to join.
- Public experiences. You ask to join, and the host approves. Nobody can add you without your OK.
- Messages. Only your friends can send you a direct message. An experience's group chat is open to everyone in that experience.
- Friend requests. Anyone can send you one. Nothing is shared until you accept.
- The map. It shows experiences, never people. Nobody can see where you are, and your phone's location is never stored.
4. Going to experiences#
Public experiences are hosted by other people on Flick'd Up. We don't check them. Before you go:
- Look at who's hosting and who else is going. Experiences your friends are going to are a good start.
- Go with a friend, or tell someone where you're going and when you'll be back.
- Meet in public places. Be careful with an experience at a private home hosted by someone you don't know.
- Get there and home your own way, and keep your phone charged.
- Leave whenever you want. You don't owe anyone a reason.
- Report anything wrong. On the map, open the experience and tap •••, then Report experience, or block the host.
If you're hosting a public experience, anyone 18 or older can see where it is. Prefer a venue over your home. The app warns you when a place looks like a home address. You choose who joins, and you can say no.
5. Teens#
You must be 13 or older to use Flick'd Up. For anyone from 13 to 17:
- they can't host public experiences, and they don't see public experiences, on the map or anywhere else;
- they don't appear in friend suggestions, or in contact matching for people they haven't connected with;
- they can only be found by their exact username.
Parents. If you believe your child under 13 has an account, or want to raise a concern about your teen, email hello@flickdup.com. We delete accounts of children under 13.
6. Child safety#
We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. We:
- remove any content that sexualizes or endangers a minor;
- close the accounts involved;
- report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Our child safety contact is Trust and Safety, Flick'd Up, at hello@flickdup.com. You can also report directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
7. How we moderate#
- Before posting. Photos and text are checked automatically, and content that looks objectionable is held back. We don't use face recognition to do this.
- After a report. A person reviews it. Reported content is kept until the review is done.
- Actions. We remove content that breaks the Community Guidelines. We warn, suspend or close accounts based on how serious the violation is and what's happened before.
- Appeals. Email hello@flickdup.com within 30 days. A different person reviews it.
8. Get help now#
- In danger right now: call 911 or your local emergency number.
- Thinking about suicide or self-harm: call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US).
- Intimate images shared without consent: Take It Down for people under 18, and StopNCII for adults.
